Elements and Performance Criteria
- Maintain farm records
- Identify and obtain information required to successfully manage farm activities
- Maintain and manage record keeping and information management systems in place within farm to ensure that sound records may be accessed when required
- Obtain and supply required pedigrees and histories from/to the relevant controlling body
- Complete and forward alpaca transfer and registration forms to relevant controlling body
- Identify and nominate alpacas for sale, exhibition or competition
- Oversee alpaca farm activities
- Identify work health and safety hazards associated with alpaca farm activities, assess risks, and implement risk controls in line with enterprise polices
- Apply site quarantine and other biosecurity protocols, including hygiene and cleanliness of work areas, to all animals and activities as required
- Apply enterprise animal welfare policies
- Agree upon and document services to be provided for clients' animals with individual clients
- Develop and agree upon plans with each client for management of identified risks in relation to services provided as required
- Identify and manage alpacas arriving at the property in line with established farm protocols
